On Saturday Nov 10th, 130 competitive dancers from The Dance Shoppe travelled to Toronto to perform for the Raptor’s during a game against the New York Knicks! Almost 500 family and friends travelled with the dance team to cheer them on and watch their two amazing perfomances. TDS owned the court. The amazing Part Time Company opened the show with an exciting Pre-Game Performance featuring a Micheal Jackson medley. The Full Time Company kept the party going performing at half time and “taking it back to old school.”
Both companies performed with obvious pride and amazing energy. It was a fun filled day of dance, fellowship and basketball. The more then 19,000 fans clapped and cheered for both dance teams during their performances at the Scotia Bank Centre along with their TDS family and friends. Many of the fans in attendance later congratulated the dancers as they mingled with the crowd and stayed to watch the Raptors beat the Knicks. The Raptor entertainment organizer even mentioned that this was one of the best performances they have had to date. This was just another example of how The Dance Shoppe is more then just dance lessons. Students at TDS are given experiences and opportunities that will last them a life time. This was definitely a day to remember! Both parents and staff were beyond proud of all the dancers! A special thank you to the parents for all their support and for getting their dancers to the arena on time and ready to perform! TDS WHAT!!! Celebrating 25 years of dance in Milton.
