On Saturday November 9th, 108 young dancers and twenty-five parent volunteers slept over at The Dance Shoppe…… well they stayed over! The Senior Company members ran fun and exciting dance classes in, Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Hip Hop.
After the classes the dancers engaged in activities such as rainbow lume, disco dance party and of course showing off performances. You could feel the excitement in the air. The laughter and giggles could be heard across town as the dancers bedded down in their sleeping bags. The sleepover has been an annual event at TDS for the past 15 years. Our very own Purple Thunder competitive dance team runs the event as a fundraiser. All the money made from the event go directly to the team to help offset their competitive expenses. Not only was it an incredibly fun night but it also helped the dancers get to know each other and bond. Getting to know each other outside of their dance classes is a wonderful way for them to meet new friends. We have always told the dancers “You don’t have to like one another all the time but at TDS you do have to respect each other all the time!” The memories made will last a life time and remember “What happens at the sleep over stays at the sleep over”!!! Thanks for everyone’s support!
