Thinking about taking your dance training to the next level? The Dance Shoppe’s Purple Thunder Competitive Team offers dancers the opportunity to build confidence, refine technique, and experience the excitement of competing while being part of a supportive and high-energy team. Competitive dancers represent the studio at competitions and community events while training in a program designed to challenge and inspire.

Dancers interested in joining the competitive team must participate in the Competitive Intensive, held every August. This intensive serves as both a training experience and a tryout, allowing instructors to assess skill level, technique, and placement within the Part-Time (PT) or Full-Time (FT) Competitive Programs. Dancers are placed on a team based on age, ability, and commitment level, with options ranging from Small Fry, Mini, and Junior to Intermediate and Senior levels. The Part-Time Program offers a structured competitive experience with a lower time commitment, while the Full-Time Program is for dancers looking for a more intensive training schedule.
